The concealed vertical rod, narrow stile 885 for aluminum framed glass storefront doors was the earliest Jackson panic device model. The 885 Jackson panic device was originally introduced in the 1960s. In the 1970s, the 1085 replaced the 885 and the 885 was discontinued.

Although discontinued, the 885 is still seen today. Because this Jackson panic device doesn’t have a precise replacement, we do not recommend trying to modify it with a newer device in its place. It will typically cost less to replace the door and frame.

The concealed vertical rod 1085 was launched in the 1970s. This non-handed crossbar device comes in a dark brown or aluminum finish. We usually have this Jackson panic device in stock which means it should take within 24 hours to ship. Our facility ships the 1085 with a 4-foot crossbar and we also carry all of the coordinating replacement parts. Let us know if you would like a breakdown of parts for the 1085 and we will help you out.

Another Jackson panic device that was launched in the 1970s was the 1095. These rim Jackson panic devices are constructed of high tensile strength aluminum and have a crossbar feature. This latch bolt protrudes from the active housing to latch onto the doorframe rim.

We ship the 1095 devices with a 4-foot crossbar that can be cut to the right size. We usually have these in stock to ship within 24 hours and you can choose the appropriate hand and color. Contact our office for a breakdown of parts.

The 1095P Jackson panic device comes with a paddle instead of a crossbar. It can be applied to aluminum or steel doors, but it can not be installed on wood doors. You can choose from aluminum and dark bronze and you can also choose the hand.

The concealed vertical rod 1285 is a push pad device for narrow stile doors. The 1285 would be the Jackson panic device to use to convert the 1085 to a touch-bar style device. Also, note that the 1285 is equivalent to the Kawneer 1686.

The 1295 is a rim Jackson panic device. The 1295 can be used to convert the 1095 to a touch-bar style device. This Jackson panic device is constructed of extruded aluminum. We usually keep it in stock to quickly ship within 1 to 2 days of your order. It comes in aluminum and dark bronze finishes. The door width options are 36 inches and 48 inches. The 1295 is equivalent to the Kawneer 1786.

The concealed vertical rod 2085 is constructed of extruded aluminum, with some stainless steel pieces. Although it is not as common as other Jackson panic devices, it is more heavy-duty than them.

The rim 2095 looks like the 2085, but it is a rim Jackson panic device as opposed to a concealed vertical rod. For both the 2085 and 2095, you can select aluminum or dark bronze. Then you can choose between right-hand reverse and left-hand reverse.
