This is the Top Latch Cover for the Von Duprin 8827-F. The 8827-F is the Fire Rated Surface Vertical Rod device usually used on interior doors to contain a fire. The Fire Rated version would not have dog screws to lock the device in the retracted postion.
Von Duprin 22 Dogging Cover Plate. Plate covers the dogging assy, or hinge side of the exit device. This plate sides off when the plastic end cap breaks or goes missing.

Von Duprin 8827 Top Latch Case for non fire rated doors. This is the part that may be causing your bottom latch to drag on the floor. The Top Latch does all the work on the Von Duprin 8827. When the Top Latch is retracted, it holds the rods in the retracted postion.

Covers stock hollow metal doors with 86 or 161 cutouts. Fits door stiles as narrow as 3-5/8". For doors as high as 7'1", if your door is higher than 7'1", please call.

This latch is used on the 2227, 3327A, and 9927 Surface Vertical Rod Devices. This latch is for use on devices shipped after October 1998. This is usually the problem if your bottom rod is dragging on the floor. Includes screws. The mounting bracket is sometimes included, and sometimes they are not. Call us and we will check.

Covers stock hollow metal doors with 86 or 161 cutouts. The Von Duprin 9827 device has a smooth mechanism case and the Von Duprin 9927 device has a grooved case. The surface vertical rod device is non-handed.
Replaces and updates all 2227 bottom latches to the new style if you device was shipped before October 1998. If your device was shipped after October 1998 then use the G050401.
