Founded in 1880 by Lewis C. Norton, Norton Door Closer Company began manufacturing and
marketing the first practical commercial door closers. Though cumbersome, his first door closers
were effective devices which permitted the adjustment of the door's sweep speed.

Norton New Style Replacement Door Closer Springs
This is the replacement door closer spring for the Norton 78, and Yale 1900 Door Closers. Spring measures 2-11/16" diameter by 2" tall. This spring is identifiable by the number stamped on the band that holds the spring together. The band will be stamped either B/D 2/4, or E/F 5/6.
Norton 78 B/D and Yale 1902-4 use spring 24BD
