This floor mounted door holder has been around since the 1960's. It used to go by the name Glynn Johnson GJF40A or F40A, and was brought over to the H.B. Ives line in the 1990's. Many schools and hospitals have this door holder in use today. It features: Automatic door holders ideal for heavy-traffic situations that require a simple, fool-proof, Hold-Open device. Forged from brass. Unit is activated automatically when door is opened. A firm pull on door releases the mechanism. Strikes accommodate different door to floor clearances. Wood Door Automatic Flush Bolt FB40

H.B. Ives FB40 Series are sold has Top, Bottom or in Pairs (top and bottom). Fully automatic, inactive door is latched when active door closes, bolts retract when active door is opened. Top Bolt has no spring tension. They are non handed, but the top and bottom bolts are different. The body size is 1" wide, 8-1/2" tall and 2" deep, the bolts have a 3/4" throw with a 7/8" vertical adjustment.
